America celebrated her 244th birthday this past weekend. The word from the firework stands across the land stated it was a record year. The closing of many large displays pushed the shows to more backyards than ever before. The 4th of July should be celebrated, it is important that all Americans take time this weekend to recognize the birthdate of the greatest nation in history. It was founded by the leaders with deep faith and trust in God that this nation would bring hope to all the world. It has, and as believers pray, we trust it will continue to be a beacon of hope forever more! There can be no doubt that we are at a decisive moment in this country. The strategic re-writing of history has led to a generation with very little knowledge of our founding leaders. With that vacuum of knowledge in place, the anti-christ spirit has rushed in with deception, lies, and confusion to cause this anti-American rhetoric we see on a daily basis. I remember 1976, my senior year in high school. It was America's 200th birthday and what a glorious celebration it was. Stories and quotes from history were prevalent as ALL Americans celebrated the fact they were so blessed to be an American. Patriotism was at an all time high! In those days it was hard to think that in a generation, the very existence of this great nation would be in question. Does our past have flaws and injustices? Yes, without a doubt. But history helps us to go into a future with hope and expectation that we, as the human race, can and will do better. I have a great hope that the seeds of faith in God, sown for many generations in this land will produce a generation that will take a stand and push back the darkness across the land. It can be said no better than this quote from Alexis de Tocqueville from the early 1800's. "I sought for the greatness and genius America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers- and it was not there... In her fertile fields and her boundless forests and it was not there... In her democratic congress and her matchless constitution- and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great." The greatness of America has and always will be in relationship to the truths of God's word. May the Word of God become the sound from homes across this land once again. May bibles be dusted off and uncovered out of the debris of doubt and unbelief and opened to the Truth within it's cover. May the pulpit of America flame again with preachers of righteousness and truth. This will keep America good, and if America is good, she will always be great!
America, may we always bless God! Happy 244 & praying for many more!
